Hello Red Hots!
It’s been 16 years since we started running yoga studios in Atlanta, and you can bet we’ve learned a lot along the way! One of the most important things is that it takes a truly dedicated person to keep a yoga studio vibrant and running smoothly – there is just no way around that - and that person is going to have to work very hard to achieve this.
It’s a passion and for people that appreciate the life that this offers, it’s a dream come true. But for it to work the way that it should, that person needs to benefit from all the sweat that they put in. They can’t be a manager, because nobody wants to put in that much work only to walk away from what they have built… trust us on that one.
This person needs to be the owner of the studio, to be the captain of their own ship.
It is equally important to know that each studio is its own unique ship. People in different neighborhoods need different things and it takes a person from that neighborhood to know and offer this… we’re not selling shoes or sandwiches here!
Of course, the business environment is ridiculously crowded and inexperience can cost you everything.
After 16 years we’ve looked at every possible combination of how to share experience while leaving room for individual vision, how to provide business advantages without going “plastic” and most importantly, how to keep the yoga authentic.
We’ve opened 9 studios at this point and consulted on many others. We know that “chaining” limits us.
We’ve looked at franchising, somewhere between the massive expense and the regulation of it all, the idea of yoga gets lost.
So, after long consideration, we want to share what we do by licensing affiliate studios.
* You own and operate your studio. We license the name Red Hot Yoga and grant a territory. There is an annual license fee and that’s it – no percentage of profits or other payments.
Red Hot Yoga is officially trademarked in the United States, and soon to be elsewhere.
* You run your studio according to your vision. We trained (or will train) you in Hot & Power yoga, so we already know you learned from the best. You take that knowledge and spirit in the direction you need to, to do what’s best for your studio. You may want to offer massage, Pilates, or spinning. It’s up to you. All we ask is that you offer and maintain the quality and integrity of the yoga that you learned in training with us!
*In addition to being officially trademarked, we offer more than a decade and a half of business insight. Our training program and studios have one of the strongest reputations in the city, the southeast and beyond, and offer a powerful ability to reach people through our client list and social media presence.
*We offer a template of success for you to adapt to your studio, in your neighborhood.
*We also offer a split for you signing folks up to our training, and that’s important as a revenue source for you.
New studios face very serious competition in offering trainings and an experience deficit can be daunting. Over the years we have had any number of students from other trainings re-train with us in order to actually learn how to teach. There is an unwritten trust between a studio and a trainer that the studio knows what it is doing… a trust is often broken by others, especially by newer studio owners with no experience.
There is no question of Red Hot Yoga’s credentials or Bethany’s ability to successfully train people to teach.
